Effectiveness of Agricultural Interventions that Aim to Improve Nutritional Status of Children
This is a 2012 systematic review of studies assessing whether agricultural activities improve nutrition outcomes. The authors cover interventions between 1990 and 2010, which include biofortification, home gardens, smalll-scall aquaculture, dairy development, and others. Only 23 studies were deemed strong enough to review, together showing weak to no impact out nutrition status such as stunting, wasting, and underweight. However, the authors also conclude that methodological weaknesses "cast serious doubts on the validity of these results", and call for consensus on research quality.
