This discussion brief presents the rationale for a comprehensive approach to the inclusion of sustainable agriculture, food security, and nutrition issues in the Post-2015/Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Framework. It builds on a range of recently completed and ongoing processes which highlight the importance of a coordinated and comprehensive approach to these issues in the Post-2015 Framework. The Post-2015 process provides a unique opportunity to recognize and leverage linkages across sectors to achieve equitable development outcomes. Agriculture, food systems, and nutrition outcomes are not only intricately linked to one another, but also to the ambitious goals of eradicating hunger and poverty. Specifically, the purpose of this brief is to promote and inform continued discussion by illustrating what a Sustainable Agriculture, Food Security, and Nutrition goal – and a set of measurable, achievable targets and indicators – could encompass.
