This technical note, authored by Patrick Webb of the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, Tufts University, describes ways in which nutrition can support the achievement of SDGs, arguing for the relevance of nutrition as a Goal itself as well as having certain related metrics embedded within other areas. While SDG 2 currently aspires to "End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture," this note argues that the "multifaceted nature of nutrition" needs to be better acknowledged, and includes an Appendix that illustrates its distinct linkages to each SDG.
