Ministers and leaders from international organizations came together for this event, co-hosted by the Governments of Canada and Ireland, to highlight the importance of allocating resources for nutrition and leveraging investments in other sectors, particularly agriculture, to achieve better nutrition outcomes, share experiences and challenges, and highlight courses of action that could help to incentivize efforts to leverage agricultural investments to improve nutrition. The objectives of the meeting were to:

  • Better understand how to collectively scale-up efforts to address undernutrition, particularly through investments in sustainable agriculture;
  • Discuss how to ensure investments in other sectors, particularly agriculture, are more nutrition sensitive to improve nutritional outcomes for the most vulnerable; and
  • Share successes and challenges, identify knowledge gaps and highlight opportunities to incentivize efforts to work across agriculture and other sectors to improve nutrition.
