This ​Voice of America (VOA) News broadcast highlights the work that has been done in India through the production of iron-rich pearl millet. It focuses on HarvestPlus, which has been working around the world to produce nutrient-rich crops using traditional breeding methods (biofortification). In the case of India, millet has been selected for biofortification given its high consumption rates, and iron as the key nutrient because of high levels of iron deficiency anemia in women and children.
