​From the Center for Development Research at the University of Bonn, this literature review is one of very few to focus on the 'nexus' of WASH and agriculture as it pertains to health and nutrition impact. The authors first move through water, sanitation, and hygiene independently, then explore conceptual linkages with irrigated agriculture -- including arguments that crops must receive adequate water to provide their maximum possible nutrition, and raising the possibility that pushing nutritional preferences towards water-demanding foods exascerbate issues around supply.
