Learning from Experience: Good Practices from 45 Years of School Feeding
This study presents a series of case studies on school feeding. Together they provide a wealth of information accumulated over decades in the field and aim to provide a simple and effective tool for practical use. Taking all the cases together, the study identifies eight new standards as a benchmark for quality and sustainability with corresponding indicators: good practices require nationally led school feeding programs, a sound analysis of country context towards well-targeted and well-designed programs, a planned transition to government ownership, and local food procurement, processing and fortification.
