This case study reviews a WFP-supported program in Malawi and looks at how stakeholders planned, coordinated, and executed an evidence-informed and scalable project focused on stunting reduction in the Ntchisi District. The case study was created from interviews and document reviews, and stresses key factors such as reliable coordination platforms, the influence of nutrition expertise, careful selection of intervention channels, and innovative reporting. Of particular note was a nutrition stakeholder and activity mapping exercise conducted by a District Nutrition Coordinating Committee--and supported by WFP--to categorize nutrition activities down to village level. This laid a groundwork for the best approaches to delivering SBCC, IYCF counseling, use of feeding supplements, and other parts of an integrated platform focused on stunting. See page 12 for a table summary of activities, lessons, and recommendations for other programs.
