This document aims to strengthen how agriculture interventions contribute to household food and nutrition security by: 1) guiding policymakers on the design of nutrition-sensitive policies and strategies; 2) providing a framework to enhance assimilation of nutrition actions in the selection of agriculture enterprises, as well as promoting nutrition-sensitive programs within the sector; and, 3) guiding agriculture extension and community development workers in selecting enterprise combinations that are both highly profitable and nutrition-sensitive. The guidelines are meant primarily for farmers, agriculture officers, and community development workers--each of whom play a critical role in ensuring agricultral interventions address both income needs and nutrition requirements.
