This FAO Compendium provides an overview of suggested indicators for nutrition-sensitive agriculture and guidance on their selection. The compendium is divided into three parts: (1) basic indicator categories and how they may be affected by common types of interventions; (2) a review of key indicators for nutrition-sensitive agriculture and food systems; (3) a longer list of indicators and operational guidance such as data collection and analysis. The choice of the appropriate indicators will depend on the anticipated outcomes of the intervention, and specifically how it might lead to improved food access, diet, and/or nutrition. The Compendium also includes a simplified impact pathway for nutrition-sensitive agriculture investments, modeled on the 1990 UNICEF malnutrition framework.
