Child Undernutrition in Pakistan: What Do We Know?
This paper from the World Bank Group (WBG) presents a review of the available empirical and qualitative literature on child undernutrition in Pakistan, summarizing evidence on food consumption, trends in undernutrition rates (stunting prevalence is 45 percent), determinants of undernutrition, and effects of various interventions. The authors seek to inform the design of public policies and programs in Pakistan, and conclude that more and rigorous empirical evaluations of nutrition-related interventions are needed. In specific, they highlight a need to assess implementation performance, impact, and cost-effectiveness.
