The Marketplace for Nutritious Food - Assessment of a market-based food environment intervention

The Marketplace for Nutritious Foods is an innovation accelerator managed by the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) producing nutritious foods across East and Southern Africa. After four years of operation in Kenya, Rwanda, and Mozambique, insights are emerging that providing technical and financial assistance to SMEs has the potential shape market food environments and improve the availability, affordability, desirability, and convenience of nutritious foods.

In this seminar, GAIN will present the results of an assessment of the Marketplace for Nutritious Foods program and highlight the challenges faced in measuring the impact of SMEs on nutrition outcomes. Please join colleagues online and in-person for a rich discussion on the Marketplace and on measuring food systems interventions generally.

Co-hosted by the SecureNutrition platform and the Food Quality and Value Chains and Agribusiness Global Solution Groups of the World Bank Group's Agriculture Global Practice.
