No more hungry children
John Stein, Sector Director of the World Bank's South Asia Sustainable Development unit, reflects on the problem of malnutrition, with a focus on the South Asian enigma and its severe consequences for the children in this region. Mr. Stein claims that the issue is gaining traction and attention in the region, including at the highest levels. He provides examples of some of the initiatives that address undernutrition, such as SAFANSI, to highlight some of the innovative ways that the region is addressing the problem.
