Funding for nutrition evaluations under the Strategic Impact Evaluation Fund (SIEF)
The Strategic Impact Evaluation Fund (SIEF) is a multi-donor trust fund that was created with the support of the British Government's Department for International Development (DfID) and is established within the World Bank. The purpose of this fund to support research that evaluates the impact of poverty-alleviation programs. More specifically, the fund seeks to support impact evaluations of innovative programs, capacity building on impact evaluation methods, and knowledge sharing of results.
Given the strong links between nutrition, health, education, and poverty, the SIEF will fund impact evaluations in these three general thematic areas, with the objective of generating a solid evidence base on the development effectiveness of such programs. In this context, SecureNutrition encourages staff and organizations working to mainstream nutrition into agriculture, to apply for this funding - which runs from 2012 to 2018, with an upcoming call for proposals in 2013 - to evaluate the impact of their activities and to contribute to building the evidence base for nutrition and agriculture programming.
