Roberta Lauretti-Bernhard is a Senior Technical Advisor at the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN). In this capacity, Roberta is responsible for strategic planning, design and implementation, particularly under GAIN’s Agriculture for Nutrition Global Program. She is currently leading implementation on the Postharvest Loss Alliance for Nutrition (PLAN) project. Roberta has worked as a technical expert in multiple value chains including livestock, poultry, vegetables, coffee, and cacao.
Roberta comes from a small urban farm background and is a Certified Veterinary Technician with degrees in agriculture and development economics. Roberta started her career as a Peace Corps Volunteer and went on to manage ACDI VOCA’s Latin America portfolio, including the USAID funded Farmer to Farmer program, where she provided direct technical assistance in over 20 countries. Roberta has extensive experience in agribusiness, cooperative business, and equitable economic (gender) development. She was previously the lead Agriculture Specialist at Peace Corps and co-managed their global Agriculture and Nutrition program funded by USAID. She also designed Peace Corps’ Women in Agriculture initiative targeting women farmers’ agriculture and family nutrition needs.
